2018: One to Remember!

 For the Students of Wrexham Glyndwr University Together, We Progress Racing and their sister MX5 Parts sponsored Mk1 and Mk3 Mazda MX-5s it's been a long, entertaining and ridiculously successful season.

But before we get to our favourite images of our year, some context. This year we've:

Beast of the East Meets Saharan Summer!

The year kicked off with the Team joining the  750 Motor Club for the season-start test day at Donington. All seemed well until a few weeks later Donington looked a tad whiter than planned!

With Oulton Park then a month's gap before Rockingham the temperatures couldn't have been more different with sunburn the theme of the weekend! Also the Team's first trophy of the season.

Spa Francorchamps was to follow and that hallowed first Class win for Nick Dougill and Graeme McMurchie in the Mk1 with John Munro set to take a third in the Mk3 too. A dream weekend in blistering sunshine.

Silverstone next, then onto Anglesey (the replacement round for the cancelled Donington) where the first sign of true British weather - ie rain! - would make themselves known. A trip to Snetterton would round off the Championship year with another trophy, this time for Nick Dougill and John Munro sharing the Mk3.

The Race of Remembrance threw up typically Welsh weather with horizontal rain interspersed with slightly more vertical rain but the chequered flag would see a second and a third placed podium in two separate Classes for the two cars.

Finally, a rather emotional 'just one more' race back at Rockingham to say farewell to the amazing circuit.

So: four thirds, a second and that incredible top step podium...not bad for a little Uni team from North Wales...

2019...

There is a huge amount going on at the Team's University-based workshop this winter! A new chassis has arrived - due to be revealed next Spring - and is aimed squarely at the Club Enduro Class B title. The Team outgrew their van many months ago and a new race support vehicle that with it brings a new direction for TWP Racing will also arrive in time for the first race of the season.

But more of that in the New Year...
